Build a record for each robot
Record the robot model, controller model, serial number and operating hours. Keep the history of completed service, replaced parts and recurring alarms in one place. Note changes to the workcell, such as a heavier tool or a longer shift, when they happen.
Set the scope from the equipment
Use the manufacturer’s service documentation and the operating environment to define the inspection scope. Discuss any observed changes in motion, noise or cable condition with the service provider. Share the alarm history and explain when each issue tends to occur.
Ask which checks can be planned for the next shutdown and which require separate diagnostics. The right interval depends on the equipment and how it is used.
Agree on the return to production
Before the visit, confirm the available shutdown window, access arrangements and who will review the result. Ask for a record of findings, parts used and follow-up items. Agree on how qualified staff will verify the cell before it returns to production.
